Claudia E. Reusch

After graduation Claudia Reusch worked in private small animal clinics in Germany for several years before moving to the University of Munich, where she became Professor for Small Animal Internal Medicine in 1992. 

 Since 1996, she is the director of the Clinic for Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.

 

She is founding member of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology (ESVE) and was its president from 2001-2003. From 2003-2006 she was president of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA).

 

Additionally to her obligations at the University of Zurich she is member of the University Council of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria since 2011 and since 2013 member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the same university. In 2014 Claudia Reusch was given the Bourgelat award by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) for outstanding international contributions to small animal practice. In 2016 she was awarded honorary member of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology.

 

She has published more than 250 scientific articles and 30 book chapters and she is co-editor of the textbook “Canine and Feline Endocrinology”. Her research focus is on clinical endocrinology in dogs and cats.
